On November 18-19, 2019, the 5th Global Business Forum on Africa in Dubai will host a unique mentorship programme, bringing together eight prominent business leaders from the UAE and Africa to guide high-potential startups from both regions.
The selected mentors include Aboyeji Iyinoluwa, co-founder of Andela and Flutterwave; Chris Folayan, founder and CEO of Mall4Africa; Eghosa Omoigui, founder and managing partner of EchoVC; and five other UAE-based business leaders.
These mentors will offer their expertise in various fields, including technology, education, retail, construction, and finance, to help the selected startups expand their global presence.
The programme is an extension of Dubai Chamber's Global Business Forum on Africa platform and event series, which aims to foster cross-border cooperation between the UAE and African startup communities.
As part of the programme, the UAE-based mentors will team up with the selected African startups, while the Africa-based mentors will do the same for the UAE startups.
According to H.E. Hamad Buamim, President & CEO of Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the GBF Mentorship Programme provides an ideal platform for high-potential startups to develop their business concepts, benefit from collaboration, and access new growth opportunities.
