The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has announced November 7, 2019, as the date for the by-election to fill the vacant seat in the Kibra constituency.

The seat became vacant after the death of Ken Okoth, the area's Member of Parliament, who passed away on July 26, 2019, due to cancer.

According to the IEBC, political parties interested in participating in the by-election have until August 26, 2019, to submit the names of their candidates.

The IEBC also announced that the campaign period will start on September 9 and end on November 4, 2019, at 48 hours before the election.

Residents of Kibra are eagerly waiting to see who will be the next Member of Parliament to represent their area.
