Published on August 19, 2019, Arsenal defender Sokratis Papastathopoulos has expressed his confidence in his team's ability to defend against Liverpool in their upcoming Premier League match.
Speaking to the media, Sokratis pointed out that last season's 5-1 defeat at Anfield was largely due to the Gunners' mistakes, including penalty kicks.
"The 5-1 last season…it was not the game to take five goals - there was the penalty kicks, we made mistakes," Sokratis said according to Mirror UK.
He added that he thinks this year will be different, but emphasized the need for improvement through the team's work with their coach and staff.
"I think this year will be different, but we have to improve of course from the work we do with the coach and his staff,'' he declared.
With Liverpool currently topping the Premier League standings and Arsenal occupying second position, the upcoming match is expected to be a closely contested one.
