Kenya's Under-15 football team continued their dominance at the ongoing Cecafa Championship in Eritrea, defeating Sudan 4-0 on Sunday.
However, the tournament has been marred by allegations of age-cheating, with Cecafa secretary general Nicholas Musonye urging national football chiefs to take action.
"We have received complaints from virtually all participating countries, and I'm telling them that this is their idiocy," Musonye said. "We agreed that federations should be responsible and have the moral obligation to do the right thing, which is not to forge age through colluding with their relevant government organs."
Despite the controversy, Musonye praised the role of football in uniting Eritrea and Ethiopia, two countries that have had a tumultuous past.
"I was happy when Eritreans and Ethiopians mingled together freely during the opening ceremony of this event," Musonye said. "When Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed and Eritrea President Isaias Afwerki brokered peace last year, it was the best thing that ever happened in the Horn of Africa."
Kenya's next group assignment is against Burundi on Tuesday afternoon.
