On Monday, Zedekiah 'Zico' Otieno, the 51-year-old former Kenyan international, was unveiled as the head coach of Kenyan Premier League side KCB at the club's training ground in Ruaraka.

Speaking to Nairobi News after his unveiling, Zico emphasized that he is capable of delivering results for both Harambee Stars and KCB.

As the newly-appointed assistant coach of Harambee Stars, Zico will deputize Francis Kimanzi in his role with the national team.

He cited the example of Democratic Republic of Congo's national football team, saying, 'My friend Florent Ibenge has been winning titles both as coach of TP Mazembe and the Black Leopards. His assistant in the national team is Mwinyi Zahera who is also a successful coach at Yanga (in Tanzania). It is possible to do these two jobs at the same time and still win.'

Furthermore, Zico stated that he has an able assistant who will hold brief at club level if need be.

As Harambee Stars' assistant coach, Zico has vowed to do his best to ensure the team qualifies for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations.

He revealed that plans are underway for the national team to play a number of international friendly matches before the start of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

On Tuesday, Zico will be presented to the public as Harambee Stars' assistant coach by Football Kenya Federation.
