Italian striker Mario Balotelli has made a triumphant return to Italy, signing with his hometown club Brescia on a free transfer. The Serie A side announced the move on Sunday, August 18, 2019.
At 29 years old, Balotelli returns to Italy for his third stint, having previously played for Inter and AC Milan. During his time at Inter, he won three league titles.
According to reports, Balotelli has signed a three-year deal with Brescia, who are back in the top flight for the first time since 2011. The new league season begins this weekend, but Balotelli will have to wait to make his debut as he serves a four-match ban.
He received a straight red card in his final game for Marseille against Montpellier in May, resulting in the ban.
