As the AfricaHackOn cyber security conference at USIU-Africa highlighted, the threat of cyber-crimes is growing, with experts urging firms to increase training on cyber security professionals to stay ahead.
According to the Communication Authority, Kenyan organizations faced 11.2 million cyber threats in the first quarter of 2019, a 10.1 percent increase from the previous quarter.
The CA report also noted a rise in malware, web application attacks, and online abuse, with cyber crime costs in Kenya jumping from $150 million (KSh15.5 billion) in 2015 to $175 million (KSh18 billion) in 2016.
