On Sunday, Mr. Dibia Obinna alias Agumuo Nnamdi, a Nigerian national with a history of alleged narcotics and human trafficking, was deported from Nairobi after being arrested from Kayole.

Obinna had been on the run for a month, evading police operations, before being apprehended in connection with an incident involving 27 Nigerians who were seized from an apartment in Kilimani last month.

Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i had signed the deportation order, and Obinna was deported alongside the 27 Nigerians who had been deported last month.

According to officials, Obinna has been linked to cases of drug trafficking and human trafficking in the region and had been posing as a consultant to the Nigerian high commissioner and chairman of the Ibo community in Kenya.

He was initially linked to another Nigerian national, Anthony Chinedu, who was deported in 2013 over drug trafficking claims.

Police are now looking for Obinna's accomplices in the city, as part of a campaign to rid the country of suspected criminals.

Over 1,000 foreigners have been deported from the country in the past two years as part of a campaign to sanitize Kenya.
