August 19, 2019, marked the beginning of a new era for Susumila, a music producer who has been making waves in the industry. With a low track in music production, Susumila has been working hard to improve his craft, and it seems like his efforts are paying off.
Recently, Susumila teamed up with Lavalava, one of Wasafi's finest artists, to create a new collaboration called Warembo. Lavalava was in the country for a music tour and collaborations, and it's clear that his stay was fruitful.
Warembo: A Unique Love Song ¶
Warembo is not your typical love song. In this song, Susumila plays the fixer role as Lavalava searches for love in Kenya. The song is a beautiful blend of conversational style and melodic approach, reminiscent of the style where it is more conversational than the normal lyrical singing.
The lyrics of the song are cleverly written, with Lavalava asking Susumila to help him get the woman of his dreams. He mentions the likes of Vera Sidika and Otile Brown, as well as Kobi Kihara, who he claims to love. On the other hand, Susumila seeks to understand why Lavalava can't get a woman from his home country, mentioning the drama's and publicity stunts from the likes of Wema Sepetu and Pendo.
Lavalava responds by saying that he doesn't advocate for women who love scandals, and that he wants beautiful ladies from Mombasa and Nairobi. Susumila gives a warning shot that Kenyan girls are after the limelight and the money, which carries some truth.
Production ¶
The song was produced by Monsta Madness under Spice music studios, and it's clear that this was a big boost for Susumila. We hope to see more music from him in the future.
