Manchester City's struggles with VAR continue, with the team being denied maximum points against Tottenham in their second Premier League match of the season.
Just days into the new season, VAR has already caused controversy for the Premier League champions, who were left frustrated by a 2-2 draw against their London rivals.
With the match appearing to be heading towards a City win, VAR intervened to disallow Gabriel Jesus' goal in injury time, leaving the team and their fans heartbroken.
However, the decision had a more significant impact on one unlucky punter, who had placed a £45,000 bet on the match.
Identified as Ross, the punter had placed a five-fold 'Both Teams To Score In Both Halves' bet, which would have paid out £45,000 if City had scored in the second half.
With the first half finishing 2-1 in City's favour, all Ross needed was the hosts to score in the second half to win the bet.
And when Lucas Moura equalized for Tottenham shortly after coming on, it seemed as though Ross's luck was about to change.
But VAR had other plans, disallowing Jesus' goal in injury time and leaving Ross devastated.
