On August 19, 2019, Italian striker Mario Balotelli made a significant move by joining his hometown club Brescia on a free transfer.

After being released by Marseille at the end of the previous season, Balotelli returned to Italy for his third stint, having previously played for Inter and AC Milan.

During his time at Inter, Balotelli won three league titles, a testament to his skills on the field.

However, his return to Italy was not without controversy, as he was set to serve a four-match ban after receiving a straight red card in his final game for Marseille against Montpellier in May.

Despite this setback, Balotelli was presented at the Stadio Mario Rigamonti, where he signed a three-year deal with the club, who were back in the top flight for the first time since 2011.

The new league season began this weekend, but Balotelli had to wait to make his debut due to his suspension.
