Published on August 18, 2019, a heated exchange between Homabay Woman Representative Gladys Wanga and Uasin Gishu Woman Representative Gladys Boss Shollei on K24's Punchline Show has left many talking.
The two woman representatives clashed after Shollei claimed that members of the Building Bridges Initiative are failures in their various professions and fields, and that BBI itself is illegal.
“BBI is an outrageous illegality and furthermore, the people sitting in the BBI committees have accomplished completely nothing in their various fields.” Shollei had claimed.
Wanga, however, rebuked Shollei, saying, “Much as one might not agree with a group, it is immoral to disparage and discredit well-known professionals in the country.”
Wanga also sparked a storm by alleging that Deputy President William Ruto hasn't shown goodwill in the fight against corruption, claiming that his allies, notably Oscar Sudi, have uttered unprintable words against President Uhuru Kenyatta for supporting the war on corruption.
Shollei responded, saying, “It would be unfair for this show to level untrue accusations against the Deputy President while he has been steadfast in the war against corruption.”
Later, off-camera, Wanga dismissed Boss Shollei off as a chronic sycophant who needs serious prayers.
