Police in Kisumu East sub county are investigating the alleged gang rape of a 13-year-old girl by four men, including a Form Four student preparing for the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams.
The suspects are said to have intercepted the victim while she was purchasing a candle from a store, according to her mother. She reported that the suspects forcibly placed her daughter on a motorcycle and transported her to a nearby residence.
The victim's mother stated the suspects allegedly repeatedly sexually assaulted her daughter before fleeing on the same motorcycle. The house's owner, identified by police, reportedly chased the girl from the premises.
The mother first reported the incident at Nyamasaria Police Post, where officers allegedly delayed action, prompting her to file a second report at Kondele Police Station. Authorities are actively investigating and searching for the four suspects.
The victim's family has called for swift justice and urged law enforcement to apprehend the accused promptly. The case has drawn public attention amid concerns about delayed police responses in such cases.
