On August 16, 2019, a fatal accident occurred on the Kerugoya-Kutus road in Kirinyaga County, Kenya, when an ambulance veered off the road and landed in a ditch.

The accident reportedly occurred near the Shell Petrol Station at JMB, while the ambulance driver was overtaking a saloon car on his way to Kerugoya Hospital.

According to eyewitnesses, the patient in the ambulance died on the scene, and four other people, including the driver, were seriously injured.

Just 30 minutes after the ambulance accident, another accident occurred at the same spot involving a matatu and a Toyota Fielder, leaving one person seriously injured.
