On August 18, 2019, a rare glimpse into the life of reclusive billionaire Ali Punjani was revealed following a raid at one of his homes.

The 44-year-old businessman, known for his philanthropy, lives a life of luxury, with a sprawling bungalow in the leafy suburbs of Nyali, complete with a swimming pool, fleet of cars, and top-of-the-range interior décor.

According to reports, the bungalow serves as the headquarters for Punjani's vast empire, with movers and shakers in Kenya's political landscape frequently visiting the premises.

The property is secured by an electric gate manned by security guards from Armytex, who usher visitors to the princely home.

A 100-meter driveway leads to the towering bungalow, which boasts well-manicured lawns and a swimming pool for occupants to cool off or take a dip whenever they feel like.

Punjani's fleet of cars leaves no doubt about his success in his line of business.

A huge door with a diamond-like knob ushers one into the all-ensuite seven-bedroom mansion, which features an ultra-modern lounge furnished with three leather sofa-sets in brown, red, and black colors that blend with the interior décor.

Despite his material possessions, Punjani is well-connected, with his networks reportedly running deep within the political class, state officers, and the judiciary.

He has been under investigation for drug trafficking charges and has funded several high-profile campaigns, including two presidential campaigns, 10 gubernatorial campaigns, dozens of MP campaigns, and a number of MCAs.

A neighbor described the visitors to Punjani's home, stating, 'You will be shocked to see the people who come here. I have seen some big people driving in here.'

Punjani's generosity and philanthropy are also well-documented, with a notable example being his contribution of Sh6 million to a fundraiser for Lamu fire victims in Nairobi in September 2009, which was double that of the then-President Mwai Kibaki.
