Pastor James Ng'ang'a Embarrasses Kenyans Online for Publicly Scolding a Woman for Dressing Smartly in Church

Published on August 17, 2019

Pastor James Ng'ang'a sparked outrage online after publicly scolding a 48-year-old woman for dressing smartly in church, leaving her in tears.

The incident occurred during a church service at Neno Evangelism, where the woman had attended a service. Pastor Ng'ang'a took issue with her attire, questioning why she was wearing expensive-looking shoes and carrying her belongings in a plastic bag.

"Wapi kipochi chako? Umechanganyikiwa? Inaeleweka hata ukija hapa mikono kitupu," Pastor Ng'ang'a said in a video that has gone viral.

After scolding the woman for about a minute, Pastor Ng'ang'a ordered her to return to her seat. However, before she could reach her seat, she was asked to return to the altar to be given a second warning.

Despite one of the women having a nice handbag, Pastor Ng'ang'a questioned why she was wearing ripped jeans and whether her outfit was modest or not.

Pastor Ng'ang'a asked the woman.

Many have taken to social media to express their outrage and disappointment at Pastor Ng'ang'a's behavior, with some calling for him to apologize to the woman.
