On August 16, 2019, detectives in Machakos County arrested two Chinese nationals, Wang Yalan and Wang Haijian, for brewing chang'aa and busaa.

The suspects were found at their residence in Green Park, Machakos, where detectives also discovered a liquor processing plant.
