On July 30, 2019, a controversy erupted in the Kenyan entertainment scene when fast-rising star Madini Classic accused Eric Omondi of stealing his girlfriend, Assumpta Waeni.
According to Madini, Eric had conned him out of KES 60,000 and created friction between him and his management before making a move on his girlfriend.
Speaking to a local media house, Madini claimed that Eric had seduced and lured Assumpta with money in order to sleep with her, citing screenshots as evidence.
Assumpta Waeni, a fast-rising video vixen and model, had become an online sensation after her alleged relationship with Eric Omondi.
Madini Classic's video featuring Assumpta, titled 'Assumpta', had also contributed to the confusion surrounding her identity, with many people initially believing her to be Hamisa Mobetto.
