On July 30, 2019, a shocking discovery was made at the home of Arsenal midfielder Mohamed Elneny in Egypt. A dead body was reportedly found on the patio of his house in Mahalla Al-Kubra, leaving the midfielder stunned.
According to reports, Elneny's father came across the corpse, and police were immediately informed of the discovery. An investigation has been launched, but the cause of death remains unclear at this stage.
Meanwhile, Elneny is facing an uncertain future at Arsenal, having seemingly fallen out of favor under manager Unai Emery. The Spanish boss has been bolstering his midfield ranks this summer, securing the services of Dani Ceballos on loan from Real Madrid.
Emery has also been linked with a move for Wilfried Zaha, with Elneny reportedly offered as part of the deal. However, Crystal Palace are standing firm over their valuation of their star man, rejecting both approaches from Arsenal.
As the Gunners continue to pursue other transfer targets, they have reportedly agreed a £72m fee with Lille for winger Nicolas Pepe, who will become their third signing of the summer.
