Pesapal has introduced a consolidated payment platform enabling travelers to book flights using M-PESA, mVisa, MasterCard, and American Express in both USD and KES. The system, launched in January 2019, is now available through Jetways Airlines, Silverstone Air, and Skyward Express websites.
The integration allows passengers to track transaction details across all payment methods via a centralized dashboard. This development follows partnerships with Kenya’s African Express Airways and Uganda’s Eagle Air, expanding the network of carriers using Pesapal’s services.
Pesapal CEO Mark Mwongela stated the move aligns with growing demand for affordable travel options. "Low-cost airlines provide critical access for business and leisure travelers," he said. "Our payment solutions aim to support the tourism sector while ensuring secure transactions through PCI PIN and PCI DSS certifications."
The participating airlines operate flights to over 10 domestic destinations. Mwongela emphasized the initiative’s role in reducing fraud risks for both passengers and carriers.
