Kenyan gospel singer Esther Wahome is mourning the loss of her father, Evangelist William Wahome Gikonyo, who succumbed to cancer on Saturday, July 27th, 2019.
Ms. Wahome shared the news on her official Facebook page, revealing that her dad had been battling the disease since the start of the year.
"Yesterday, July 27, you were transferred to heaven immediately after I talked to you and held you for the last time and you handed over a different mantle to me," Ms. Wahome wrote, expressing her grief and pain.
Ms. Wahome described her father as her spiritual mentor and the greatest fan of her music, noting that he never complained about his illness, saying only that God is great and good.
