Manchester United have stepped up their bid to sign Sergej Milinkovic-Savic this summer, with the club reportedly reaching a verbal agreement with Lazio.

The 24-year-old midfielder has informed his Serie A teammates that he will be leaving the club this summer, and United are prepared to hand him a five-year deal at Old Trafford.

However, the deal is contingent on Paul Pogba's departure from Old Trafford, with Los Blancos ready to splash £150 million on the World Cup-winning French star.

According to SunSport, Lazio boss Simone Inzaghi has expressed his desire to see Milinkovic-Savic remain in Rome, but with the right offer, his club could be forced to allow him to leave.

"My thoughts are that I'd like Milinkovic-Savic to stay. But I also believe the club has to consider offers when they come in and then make a decision," Inzaghi said.

"Milinkovic is 24 now, he's no longer a kid. I can give him advice, he is at our disposal and hasn't missed a training session, but then I don't know what will happen," he added.
