Kenyan presidential candidate Raila Odinga has departed for a lecture tour in Europe, amidst the ongoing election crisis in Kenya. His trip comes as the National Super Alliance (NASA) intensifies its international campaign for support.

On Tuesday, Raila is scheduled to meet with German Chancellor Angela Merkel, alongside Embakasi East Member of Parliament Paul Ongili, also known as Babu Owino. Babu Owino had earlier left for Russia on October 8, 2017.

Earlier, Kisumu governor Prof. Anyang Nyong'o had called on Kenyans to reach out to members of the United States Congress to intervene in the Kenyan situation. During a conference call with NASA diaspora members, Prof. Nyong'o recalled how a lobby group he formed at the University of Chicago in the 1970s had pressured the U.S. Congress to act on the situation in South Africa.

NASA has maintained its stance that it will not participate in repeat presidential elections unless its list of irreducible minimums is addressed in full by the Independent Elections and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).

Protests have been held in New York City and Dallas, Texas, demanding the resignation of IEBC CEO Ezra Chiloba and officials who bungled the August 8 elections. Further protests are planned for Washington D.C. and London.

The NASA coalition remains committed to its 'No reforms, No Elections' stance.
