On Sunday, Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) showcased their dominance in basketball, defeating African Nazarene University (ANU) 100-40 in a Kenya ladies Basketball Federation tie at Nyayo National Stadium Gymnasium.
This impressive win marked a weekend double for KPA, following their 76-37 victory over UoN Dynamites on Saturday at the same venue.
Early in the game, KPA took a strong lead, with Vilma Achieng scoring 10 points in the first five minutes. ANU fought back, however, with Caroline Njeri sinking three 3-pointers to tie the first period at 18 points each.
Despite ANU's efforts, KPA maintained their momentum, with Mike Opel's charges demolishing the varsity side 24-9 and 32-4 in the second and third stanzas, respectively. Felmas Koranga, Hilda Indasi, and Natalie Akinyi combined for 27 points in the second half.
Christine Akinyi and Debra Atieno contributed 8 points each in the final period, securing KPA's century score. Achieng led the game with 18 points, while Koranga and Indasi scored 13 and 10 points, respectively.
Meanwhile, in another ladies match, Lucy Musyoki scored 16 points to guide Zetech University to a 45-32 rout of Strathmore University at Nyayo Gymnasium.
Men's Division One results included African Nazarine University (ANU) defeating Nakuru Club 73-34 and Kenyatta University Pirates losing to Blazers 42-62.
Ladies Division One saw Kenya Catholic University (KCU) fall to Strathmore University 29-35.
