On July 28, 2019, a disturbing video went viral on social media, showing a man being brutally attacked by a crowd in Shinyalu, Kakamega county, over an alleged theft of a chicken.
The suspect, identified as Francis Muse Liseche, alias Moi, was caught on camera hacking the unarmed man as an eager crowd watched in disbelief.
According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), Liseche was arrested alongside three other suspects, including the owner of the alleged stolen chicken.
The DCI stated on Twitter, "Francis Muse Liseche alias Moi alias President who was captured on a viral video savagely cutting a man on allegations of stealing a chicken has been arrested by #DCI Detectives from the HQs. Three other suspects also arrested including the owner of the alleged stolen chicken."
Tragically, the victim succumbed to his injuries in hospital.
The suspects are set to face charges on Monday, July 29.
