Barcelona coach Ernesto Valverde is optimistic about the potential of new signing Antoine Griezmann to form a strong attacking trio with Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez.
On July 27, 2019, Valverde expressed his confidence in Griezmann's ability to link up with Messi and Suarez, despite the latter two players being on an extended break following their Copa America exploits.
Valverde stated, 'It's true that some players who are good fit in together easier,' and acknowledged that the team would need to see the relationship between Griezmann and the other two players develop socially and at the camp.
Valverde believes that Griezmann's speed, passing ability, and ability to find space on the pitch are exactly what the team was missing, and that he could be the missing part of the puzzle as Barcelona chase their first Champions League trophy since 2015.
Barcelona's next pre-season match is against Arsenal at the Nou Camp on August 7.
