On July 26, 2019, the Miss Uganda beauty pageant took a dramatic turn when socialite Zari Hassan was called upon to announce the winner.
However, instead of simply opening the envelope containing the winner's name, Zari seized the moment to create a little scene by demanding that the host, Fabiola, open it for her.
According to a video posted by Kakensa Media, the conversation between Zari and Fabiola went as follows:
"We have our top three right here in this envelope… Mama are you going to do us the honours," Fabiola said.
But Zari responded by handing Fabiola the envelope and saying, "Girl, you were supposed to do the admin work here… get it out."
When Fabiola refused, Zari reprimanded her, saying, "No! Enough."
Despite the drama, Zari later explained her actions, saying it was her way of testing how the show host would react.
As one of the judges of the Miss Uganda beauty pageant, Zari's actions were certainly memorable, and the winner of the pageant will get a chance to represent the country at the Miss World beauty competition.
