Ken Okoth, the late Member of Parliament for Kibra, had expressed his wish not to be placed on life support before his death, his family has revealed.

Okoth passed away on July 26, 2019, at a Nairobi hospital, where he had been admitted in a critical condition.

According to his son, Imran Okoth, the late MP had been experiencing health issues for a long time and had undergone treatment in France earlier in the year.

"We were told to remove him from life support, and if we didn't have a way," Imran Okoth said in a statement.

Okoth had been suffering from cancer and had traveled to France for treatment earlier in the year. He returned to Nairobi two weeks before his death.

The late MP's body has been preserved at the Lee Funeral Home.
