On July 27, 2019, COLNN, an Egyptian edtech platform, secured $100,000 from EdVentures, a leading corporate venture capital in education, culture, and innovative learning solutions.
Founded by Dalia Ibrahim, EdVentures aims to develop and offer new and innovative educational solutions that strengthen the educational sector in Egypt. According to Ibrahim, 'We were keen to add COLNN to our portfolio of companies as it perfectly aligns with our objective in developing and offering new and innovative educational solutions that further strengthen the educational sector in our country'.
COLNN provides web-based solutions to schools, connecting teachers, parents, and students. The platform helps schools manage their internal processes, departments, and activities, and optimizes the usage of their available resources through a school management system. COLNN also offers customized solutions to fit the needs of each school, and provides continuous training and follow-up to the schools' staff, students, and parents.
EdVentures invests in startups specializing in education, culture, and innovative learning solutions in SEED and Pre-Series A rounds, focusing on Egypt, Africa, and the Arab World. The corporate VC was launched in 2017 by Nahdet Misr Publishing House, and provides technical and financial support to startups to ensure success and continuity in the market.
