On July 7, 2019, Kibra MP Ken Okoth made a public appearance at the Kibra Annual Music Festival at Moi Girls High School in Kibra, exuding confidence and gratitude to Kenyans for their prayers during his time in France.

However, his condition has taken a turn for the worse, and he has been rushed to Nairobi Hospital. Okoth, 41, has been battling stage four colorectal cancer for several months.

Just 10 days ago, Okoth made his first public appearance after returning from France, where he had been receiving treatment. He attended the Kibra Music Fest at Moi Girls School, accompanied by other City leaders.

Okoth's bravery in his fight against cancer has earned him recognition from State House, with Spokesperson Kanze Dena issuing a statement in March praising his determination and urging Kenyans to support each other in battling the disease.

Okoth has been receiving immense love and support from Kenyans, who have been inspired by his determination to overcome the disease.
