Kenyan politicians, friends, and family members have been paying tribute to the late Kibra Member of Parliament, Ken Okoth, who passed away on Friday afternoon at Nairobi Hospital.

Okoth had been battling Colorectal Cancer since early 2019 and had sought treatment abroad for five months before returning home in July 2019.

He made his first public appearance in his constituency on July 7, 2019, when he attended the Annual Kibra Music Festival.

According to family members, Okoth's condition worsened on Thursday night, prompting his rushed hospitalization.

Politicians, friends, and family members have taken to social media to share their messages of condolences, with ODM leader Raila Odinga among the first to send his message.

"I'm deeply saddened by the passing of our MP Hon. @kenokoth. Ken battled Cancer with unique bravery while serving his voters to the last minutes of his life. May God grant peace and strength to his family and may he Rest In Peace," Odinga said.

Other notable figures who have sent their condolences include National Assembly Speaker J.B Muturi, Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen, Samburu West MP Naisula Lesuuda, Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria, and KTN news anchor Linda Ogutu.
