On July 26, 2019, a viral phrase 'Wamlambez Wamyonyez' took the world by storm, originating from an ice-cream shop in Kenya.
The phrase gained international attention when rugby player Biko Adema was caught on camera teaching American singer Christina Milian how to pronounce it.
Christina Milian, known for her hit song 'Dip it Low' and movies, was spotted at Biko's friend's food truck, Beignet Box, in Louisiana, USA.
While there, Biko noted that the beignets resembled the popular Kenyan pastry 'Mandazi', and Christina learned to pronounce it.
After mastering 'Mandazi', Biko attempted to teach Christina the popular Kenyan phrase 'Wamlambez' and its response 'Wamyonyez', saying 'If I say Wamlambez, you say wamyonyez.'
Christina responded with 'Wamnyonyez', and the video of their interaction quickly went viral.
