Published on July 26, 2019, a time when the world was slowly beginning to understand the impact of diet on our health.

As Hippocrates once said, “Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food.” However, it's unlikely he would have included the modern day diet, rich in animal products and processed foods, high in salt, sugar, and saturated fat, in his advice.

Today, we know that many modern diseases are proven to be lifestyle-based. Conditions such as Type 2 Diabetes, heart disease, and high blood pressure, as well as obesity-related complications, are all manageable by changing our diets and lifestyle.

Plant-focused diets are high in fiber, antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals, and naturally low in sodium, cholesterol, saturated fats, and calories. This makes them an attractive option for those looking to improve their health.

While some people may be resistant to the idea of completely cutting out animal products, there is a middle ground. A plant-focused diet allows you to still include unprocessed fish, eggs, and dairy occasionally without a huge adverse effect.

What’s the most ridiculous fact you know?
