On July 25, 2019, the Law Society of Kenya (LSK) council member Boniface Apamo Akusala was arraigned before a Kibera court in Nairobi, Kenya.
Mr. Akusala, the LSK council Nairobi representative, was charged with assault and causing actual bodily harm to his wife, Faith Leah Kweya.
The alleged assault occurred on June 16, 2019, in South C, Nairobi.
Mr. Akusala denied the charges and was released on a Sh100,000 bond or a cash bail of Sh30,000.
The case was set for hearing on October 2, 2019.
Mr. Akusala was arrested on July 23, 2019, and released on a police cash bail of Sh5,000.
He was elected to the LSK post in February 2018.
