July 25, 2019 - Liverpool's US tour came to an end with a 2-2 draw against Sporting CP at Yankee Stadium in New York.
The English Premier side failed to win a game in their first trip abroad since being crowned European champions, finishing with no victories from their three-match stateside tour.
Divock Origi and Georginio Wijnaldum scored goals for the Reds, who played all three exhibition contests in iconic American sports venues.
However, Liverpool's defense was put to the test by Sporting's Luciano Vietto, who had two scoring chances stopped by goalkeeper Simon Mignolet just before the half.
Teen sensation Sepp van den Berg made his exhibition debut for Liverpool in the 89th minute, coming on to replace an injured player.
Despite the draw, Liverpool's manager Jurgen Klopp's side was missing several of their top players, including forwards Roberto Firmino, Mohamed Salah, and Sadio Mane, who were taking a break after competing in COPA America and African Cup of Nations.
Goalkeeper Alisson also decided not to make the trip, but Bruno Fernandes, who has been linked with Manchester United, shone in the game, combining with Marcus Wendel to score two goals for Sporting CP.
