On July 25, 2019, Daystar University announced the appointment of new leaders, marking a significant change in the institution's leadership.
Prof Laban Ayiro, the Vice-Chancellor, has appointed Prof Faith Nguru as Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academics, Research and Students Affairs, effective August 1, 2019. Prof Nguru is a communication professor and the immediate former acting Vice-Chancellor of Riara University.
Prof Muturi Wachira has been appointed as Deputy Vice-Chancellor Finance, Administration and Planning. Prof Wachira is the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Finance and Administration) at St Paul's University and has previously served as a faculty head at Daystar.
Prof Michael Bowen has been appointed as Principal, Daystar Nairobi Campus, while Prof Bernard Boyo will serve as Director of Resource Mobilisation, Projects and Partnerships. Both Prof Boyo and Prof Bowen have been serving in acting capacities at the university.
The appointments followed a rigorous process that began on April 9, 2019, when the positions were first advertised.
