On May 2, 2015, Floyd Mayweather Jr. defeated Manny Pacquiao in their welterweight unification championship bout at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Recently, Pacquiao, now 40, responded to Mayweather's claim that his entire legacy and career have been built off their association.
Pacquiao, who beat Keith Thurman on a split decision at the weekend, fired back at Mayweather on social media, saying, "You come to my fight and then use my name in a post but I’m the one that is trying to stay relevant? if you want to be relevant again... #MayPac2,"
Mayweather, who retired at 40 in 2017 with a 50-0 win-loss record, had earlier claimed that Pacquiao's career has been built off their association.
"It’s about time you all stop using my brand for clout chasing and clickbait and let that man’s name hold weight of its own," Mayweather posted on Instagram.
When asked about a potential rematch, Mayweather stayed silent, but later responded with a post saying, "Bottom line, I make more money than you... I beat you mentally, physically and financially!"
