On July 24, 2019, President Uhuru Kenyatta appointed Ukur Yatani as the acting National Treasury Cabinet Secretary, following the corruption charges against former CS Henry Rotich.
Yatani, who is currently the Cabinet Secretary for Labour and Social Protection, is expected to hold both positions. He replaces Henry Rotich, who was charged with corruption.
Julius Muia was appointed as principal secretary in the finance ministry, replacing Kamau Thugge, who was also charged alongside Rotich, according to a statement by President Uhuru's spokeswoman Kanze Dena.
