On July 24, 2019, celebrity pastor Chris Atemo, known for his appearances on KTN's Life and Style, shared a remarkable story of his humble white wedding.
According to Atemo, he and his wife opted for a simple wedding, with no lavish reception or expensive suits for his groomsmen.
He revealed that he spent a mere Ksh 3,000 on the entire wedding, which included buying his wedding shoes and some food for the guests.
'There was no money and the orders we were to make and pay later the suppliers said they could not buy the products without money,' Atemo said.
He added that a certain individual had given him Ksh 3,000 to buy his wedding shoes, which he used to buy some food for the guests.
Despite the challenges, Atemo's wedding turned out to be a success, with the caterer claiming that God had multiplied the food, allowing everyone to eat.
However, Atemo's wedding day was not without its hiccups. He revealed that his groomsmen could not afford the Ksh 4,500 suits, and they had to wear different attire.
He also shared that he had to jump into a matatu from Gumba and pick his niece, who then accompanied him to the wedding venue.
After the wedding, Atemo and his wife did not even have a honeymoon destination, and they had to stay in a temporary place for three nights, courtesy of a kind stranger.
Just when you thought you had heard enough, Atemo revealed that even the wedding gown his wife wore belonged to someone else.
Reflecting on his experience, Atemo said, 'Marriage is a commitment and if you are not committed to each other, it does not matter what you do on your wedding day.'
