On July 24, 2019, Raila Odinga's devoted fan, Ogondo Otieno Omena, left many tongues wagging after he compared the Opposition leader to Jesus, stating that Raila's mysterious mode of operation has earned him respect and support across the country.
Speaking to a reporter, Otieno described Raila as the country's savior, saying his ability to forgive, make bold political steps, and command a huge following in the country make him a unique figure.
According to Otieno, Raila's powers are almost on par with those of Jesus, but Jesus has more powers. He cited Raila's ability to forgive and make bold political decisions as reasons that make him a special individual.
When asked why he supports Raila, Otieno dismissed the notion that he is doing so because Raila originates from his Luo Nyanza backyard. He stated that Raila is not a Luo and his origin is shrouded in mystery.
