Dr. Alexander Ondari, a Kenyan doctor who was deported from the US, is seeking help to return home. He was deported on July 6, 2019, after his visa was revoked.
Dr. Ondari had traveled to the US to complete his final year of residency at a Texas university. However, his visa was revoked, and he was forced to return to Kenya.
According to his plea, Dr. Ondari has been living in Kenya since his deportation and has been unable to return to the US due to visa issues.
He has applied for a J1 visa, which is a type of visa that allows non-US citizens to enter the country for a specific period to study or work. The visa typically takes 6-10 weeks to process.
Dr. Ondari's plea has gained significant attention, with over 30,000 people signing his petition.
"Dr. Ondari's dedication and commitment to his work are a testament to his character. His goal is to bring value to the US, and he has already achieved that in his 17 years of service," his plea stated.
