July 23, 2019, marked a day when Tanzanian musician Diamond Platnumz opened up about a secret love child he fathered in 2010, long before he met his current partners.
According to Diamond, he met the woman from Mwanza at a hotel corridor, where he was staying with fellow artist Dully. The two had a brief encounter, and the woman later revealed to Diamond that she was pregnant with his child.
However, Diamond never got the chance to see his newborn firstborn child due to circumstances that prevented him from returning to Mwanza in time.
As revealed in an interview with a Tanzanian radio station, Diamond said, "Niko na mtoto Mwanza…Nilikua nimeenda Mwanza Zamani mwaka 2010…Yaani hapo ndo nimetoka ustaa unanichanganya nasema mimi washanikataaga sana…Huyo mwanamke alikua maetoka kwenye chumba cha brother Dully akaja kwangu mimi nikafanya yangu…Mi niakrudi huku akaniambia ana mimba…"
He further explained that he went back to Mwanza to look for the woman but was unable to see his child due to the woman's refusal to let him meet the child, citing that the child resembled her other son.
With this revelation, Diamond's family has grown to four children, including the secret love child, with one more on the way.
