Her rise to fame can be attributed to her brother's introduction, but she has also been a close friend to Jokate Mwegelo, a celebrity model and video vixen who featured in Bahati's song 'Maria'.

Ali Kiba's mother denied knowing Jokate as Ali's girlfriend in an interview with a Tanzanian radio station.
Jokate responded by expressing her disappointment and suggesting that Ali's family might have been wrong in their denial.
"I think a lot about this; I am a positive person and I want to believe that they didn't mean to hurt me. I don't know if they lied or made a mistake," Jokate said.
She further stated:
"You know in life, you can't force someone to see your value. They say do good and go your way, and the consequences will be yours. I don't like to talk about it too much because people love to pick on what they know about you," Jokate said.
