On July 23, 2019, a shocking incident unfolded at Maueni Girls High School in Makueni County, where three high school students were arrested for allegedly plotting to poison their classmate over a boyfriend.
The students, Beatrice Musomi, Mercy Wanjiku, and Purity Akinyi, all 15 years old, had planned to lace their classmate Faustine Kavuva's lunch meal with chemicals stolen from the school's laboratory.
However, the plan fell apart when Akinyi refused to execute the action, leading to a heated argument among the trio. It was during this quarrel that Mercy Wanjiku revealed the conspiracy to the class prefect, according to a police report.
The three minors are currently at the police station for further questioning and necessary action.
The school's deputy principal, Dorcas Nzioka, reported the incident to the authorities.
