Published on July 23, 2019, Kisumu Governor Anyang' Nyong'o spoke to Citizen TV's Lilian Muli about the impact of Lupita Nyong'o's fame on their family life.

According to the Governor, Lupita's celebrity status forces them to adjust their lives, making it difficult for her to visit home without being mobbed by journalists.

He explained that they now have to conceal her identity to ensure she has peace of mind during visits.

At times, Lupita wears a buibui to avoid the paparazzi, Governor Anyang' Nyong'o revealed.

However, the Governor attributes Lupita's career path to his own childhood, where he was an actor, and encourages his children to pursue their passions, including Lupita.

As a celebrity, Lupita cannot just come home like that, Governor Anyang' Nyong'o said, 'Otherwise, journalists will be all over her and she will not enjoy coming home for a short time to be with her family and friends.'
