President Donald Trump's presidency has been marked by controversy, particularly when it comes to racial issues. In a recent New York Times article, Trump was accused of using racism to his advantage, with some arguing that he is a chameleon who changes his views to suit the occasion.
Simon Raskin of Spring Valley, N.Y., wrote to the editor, 'He will do whatever gets him higher ratings and helps him win. He will befriend blacks and allow them into his club but will refuse to allow them to be his tenants when it suits him.'
Ellie Berner of Stratham, N.H., added, 'When he stands before a crowd of people and exhorts the crowd to anger, he becomes the cheerleader for the racists who live among us.'
John Friedland of Chicago noted, 'The person who claims to be the least racist person we have ever met is probably not the least racist person we have ever met.'
