Antoine Griezmann's highly publicized transfer to Barcelona has left a sour taste in the mouths of Atletico Madrid fans. The French striker's Sh13.9 billion (120 million euros) move was contested by Atletico, who insisted Barcelona should have paid a higher price for the World Cup-winning striker.
However, Griezmann is eager to put the controversy behind him and focus on his new team. In Tokyo, he expressed his happiness with the transfer outcome, stating, "I am very happy about the outcome of my transfer. I am very eager to play as soon as possible."
Despite his appreciation for his time at Atletico and his strong relationship with coach Diego Simeone, Griezmann is now committed to Barcelona. He voiced his desire to fit in among the Barcelona players, saying, "I am focused on fitting in among the Barcelona players. My heart is here with them."
Barcelona will face Chelsea in a friendly on Tuesday and Japan's Vissel Kobe on Saturday, featuring ex-Barca players Andres Iniesta, David Villa, and Sergi Samper.
