Published on July 22, 2019, Victor Wanyama, a midfielder for Tottenham, has responded to transfer speculation amid links with an exit from Spurs.

Wanyama has been linked with an exit from Tottenham after falling down the pecking order at the club due to his injury record last season, where he spent a lot of time on the sidelines and only managed 13 appearances in the league for Spurs.

However, in an interview with ESPN, Wanyama stated that no team has come out to pursue his signature and that he was not thinking about moving out of the club.

"I will be back in training with Spurs next week. I do not want to dwell much on speculations because it’s normal for a player to be linked with other clubs when the transfer window is open but I’m not going anywhere," ESPN quoted Wanyama.

West Ham are among the clubs reportedly considering a summer move for the 28-year-old, with some reports suggesting that the arrival of Spurs’ newest signing Tanguy Ndombele meant he would be Wanyama’s replacement.

Wanyama has a running contract with Tottenham, which he intends to honour, and aims to remain at the club to help his team next season.

"I have not spoken to any other team because I aim to remain at Spurs and to help my team next season. I have a running contract with Tottenham which I intend to honour," Wanyama said.
