Deputy President William Ruto has rejected a proposal suggesting that presidential candidates who lose in the 2022 general election should share power with the winners.
According to Ruto, the proposal would not benefit the country and would instead increase the cost of salaries and burden taxpayers.
Speaking in an interview with K24, Ruto stated, "Mapendekezo mengine hayataboresha Kenya, kama lile la kutaka wanasiasa watakaoshindwa katika uchaguzi kushiriki mamlaka na washindi, naona jambo hili likiwa la kejeli sana."
Ruto emphasized the importance of having an opposition leader to keep the government on its toes.
He stated that the proposal would not benefit the country and would instead increase the cost of salaries and burden taxpayers.
