DP William Ruto has been under fire from ODM politicians over his monthly donations to churches, with some accusing him of using the donations to cleanse corruption money.
However, Ruto has fired back at his critics, saying that the way he uses his money is nobody's business.
Speaking in Machakos county on July 20, 2019, Ruto said, 'We have read the Bible and we have understood what we are called to do, nobody should be forced to give to God. Someone should not give us lectures on what to do. The donations I make come from my own pocket and you cannot decide how I should be using my money.'
Ruto was accompanied by several MPs, including Victor Munyaka, Charles Nguna, Rachel Nyamai, Flabian Muli, George Sunkuyia, Vincent Musyoka, and Moses Lesonet.
Despite the criticism, Ruto remains committed to his charitable donations, saying that he will continue to do church donations as much as he needs to.
